Cross Connection Testing (Back Flow Preventers)
- Testing service for residential and light commercial installations of cross connection devices or back flow preventers as required by the local municipal jurisdictions. We will test and document the results for boiler, radiant heating, food preparation service (restaurants), dental offices, veterinary facilities, medical testing laboratories, funeral homes, GreyWater cross connections or photo finishing facilities. The service is available evenings and weekends to compliment the busy home owner’s time frame. Please contact CCE for an appointment.
Tankless Water Heater Seasonal Flushing
- Tankless (Instantaneous) water heaters work best when their internal plumbing are free of hard water build-up as found in southern Alberta. Manufacturers such as Rinnai, Navian, Bosch, Noritz or Rheem recommend their tankless units be flushed with a mild cleaning solution on a regular basis. (See your manufacturers manual and warranty for details.) This cleaning will renew the heating capacity, reduce fuel consumption and extend the life of these excellent units.
- Cross Check Environmental will provide this service to all tankless heaters when a Rapid Flush bypass system has been added at time of installation.
- The process takes approximately one hour and will require the shut down of the tankless water heater for this process. Please contact CCE for an appointment.

Solar Domestic Hot Water, Solar Radiant Assist, PV (Photo Voltaic) Systems Consultation

As with the heating of domestic hot water, the energy from the sun can provide a large portion of free heat to assist your radiant heating or forced air heating when used with a fan coil air heating system. - Free Electricity From The Sun. With the installation of PV (Photovoltaic) collector panels on your residence you are able to provide a significant amount of electrical power to your home during daylight hours. Usually the installation of 12 to 14 collectors and inverters will provide the major portion of power for general household consumption.
- Under Alberta’s new environmental energy act, excess energy created may be sold back to your energy provider. The potential exists to substantially reduce your yearly electrical costs.
